Do you own a gym, fitness centre or other venue for sports or youth activities? You must make sure you and your customers follow the rules to minimise the spread of the corona virus.

From Saturday 13 November 2021 spectators are not allowed at professional as well as amateur sports. Sports canteens must close at 20:00 hours.

The use of a corona entry pass is mandatory in indoor sports locations such as gyms, indoor swimming pools, and sports halls for anyone 18 years old and up. You must always verify the entry pass data with your visitor's proof of identification. This also applies to sports canteens and clubhouses. All other rules remain in place.

Conditions for indoor and outdoor sports

  • Group lessons and sports matches, both amateur and professional, for all ages are allowed.
  • For indoor sports activities a corona entry pass is mandatory for anyone aged 18 and older, for athletes as well as spectators. This applies to the entire sports sector, for instance gyms, swimming pools, fitness centres, and sports halls, and for all activities (training and classes, matches, competitions, etc). Make sure you verify the entry pass data with a person's proof of identification.
  • In all indoor sports facilities, including changing rooms, club canteens, and clubhouses, a corona entry pass is mandatory for everyone aged 18 years and up. This also applies to outdoor seating areas, such as your terrace.
  • The 1.5 metres social distancing is mandatory where you do not use a corona entry pass system.
  • All basic corona rules remain in place. For indoor sports accommodations this also means you must make sure all areas are well-ventilated and have a good flow of fresh air.
  • You need to perform a health check and ask your visitors to register.
  • Spectators are not allowed at both professional and amateur sports.
  • Professional athletes do not need a corona entry pass.
  • Children under 18 do not need a corona entry pass.
  • Staff, either paid employees or volunteers, do not need a corona entry pass when working. They need to leave as soon as their work is finished.

Sports canteens

Sports canteens may be open between 6:00 and 20:00 hours. The rules for bars and terraces apply. This also means you need to use the corona entry pass system in your sports canteen and clubhouse.

Protocols for the sports sector and fitness industry

Sports federation NOC*NSF has drawn up a protocol for responsible sports (in Dutch). They also supply information sports clubs and accommodations can use on posters and billboards (in Dutch) and offer answers to frequently asked questions (in Dutch).

Protocols for related sectors

You can find the most recent versions of the various protocols on the Dutch-language website Mijn coronaprotocol. For instance:

Please note: a protocol is not legislation, but a guideline on how to implement government's and the RIVM's advice for the workplace.

What gyms are open today near me -

Working from home may be more common these days but if you prefer a more conducive environment, co-working spaces offer an alternative to the rigidity of normal offices.
There are many options in Singapore, so whether you’re a solo entrepreneur, an aspiring startup or just someone who can’t get motivated working alone at home, these co-working spaces found all around the island may be the answer for you.

ClubCo

Ever needed a co-working space on-demand? This collaborative space (with two locations in the CBD and one in the East) lets you drop in and drop out whenever you want with flexible passes and plans (from $50), while still allowing more permanency with dedicated memberships. Best part? You can redeem your full paid value at partner restaurants and bars like Little Creatures, Pizza Express and The Black Swan—meaning you get to enjoy great food and drink for free, technically.

The Co.

For those used to hot-desking and minimalist spaces, co-working space veteran The Co. easily fits the bill. They are no stranger to buzzy corporate types and creatives alike, and offers offices at either their OG High Street building or at Duxton. Individual desks go for $45 a day, $350 for 10 visits a month and $600 monthly, while a swanky office suite can set you back $700-990 per person.

The Cocoon Space

Housed within the second floor and rooftop level of Design Orchard, this incubator and co-working space by the Textile and Fashion Federation is ideal for local designers, makers and apparel start-ups to metamorphosize (geddit?) into full-grown businesses. From personal pod spaces with prime Orchard Road views to large areas allowing for private trunk shows, they can cater to most any needs. Meanwhile, professional sewing facilities and a materials library really help nascent fashion creatives gain access to otherwise inaccessible resources. Whether you're looking for work desks, event spaces, or equipment usage, it can all found at The Cocoon Space.

CoCre8

It doesn’t get any more convenient than CoCre8, located next to Shaw House on Orchard Road. A hot desk day pass is $45, with monthly packages capped at $480 and $650 (fixed-desk). Enough foliage keeps the space lively but to the point, with lots of little nooks and alcoves for you to get work done in peace. For the brisk worker who has to run around town for meetings, this should do.

Core Collective

This community working space for fitness, health and wellness professionals has two locations—spanning across several floors of 79 Anson Road, as well as at a compound in Dempsey's Loewen cluster. Rather than the usual desks and meeting rooms, you’ll find fully-equipped gyms, yoga studios, consultation rooms, and even a boxing ring. Joining fee varies depending on the type of professional service you offer. Or just join as a member to use the facilities and attend classes.

The Company Singapore

A pleasing mix of design-meets-minimalism, co-working space The Company Singapore (formerly District6) has opened its oak wood doors conveniently in the heart of City Hall. The 10,000 sq ft space is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors, but office decor is kept to a minimum, to allow tenants the freedom to personalize their space however they want. Open 24 hours, the work space offers everything from private studios and offices, to small meeting rooms and dedicated phone booths, plus an event space that fits 100. A Kyoto-based specialty coffee bar is stationed in-house to provide your daily cuppa, complimentary to members.

CoQoons Coworking

Here's one located down south, right beside VivoCity. This friendly and easily-accessible co-working space at HarbourFront Tower boasts interiors beautiful to look at, and also offers amazing views of the sea and Sentosa outside thanks to its full-length windows. Prices are competitive despite the still-central location. Fork out $40 for a day use of a hot desk, or just $700/month for a full private office.

Distrii

Arguably Singapore’s smartest co-working space, Distrii’s magic lies in its proprietary app. It is all at once the key to your co-working office and your locker, the place to book shared meeting spaces, a video conferencing tool, a business social network, a team collaboration platform, and even where managers can handle attendance and leave approval. Besides the awesome app, Distrii has all the usual bells and whistles that make co-working spaces fun. Across seven floors of space they hold regular events, house breakout spaces with exercise bikes and foot massage mats, has an in-house cafe in the form of Mellower Coffee, and burger bar Hans im Gluck on level one. Distrii is highly suited for bigger startups and SMEs. They offer flexible, dedicated office spaces that can be customised to your liking—just let their in-house architects and engineers know what you want. But even if you’re a lone freelancer, private fixed desks ($750) and hot desking ($550) options are available too.

Found8

The lovechild of former co-working spaces Found. and Collision8, Found8 offers more than just a temporary office space for hungry entrepreneurs. Benefit from their joined forces to tap on an even larger community of startups, experts and investors; Found8 also holds numerous events and programmes for its members. “Virtual” membership is $50 a month, with hot desking starting from $390 a month. With its five locations in the CBD—Amoy Street, Anson Road, Cuppage, High Street Centre and Prinsep Street—it’s a growing force to be reckoned with.

Gather Cowork

With an emphasis on work-life balance, Gather (located above Common Man Coffee Roasters in River Valley) is the co-working space to be if a more social work life is what you're looking for. They have a pet-friendly policy, large communal spaces and a pantry on each of their three floors—all done in an effort to foster a more lively work environment. You can also expect events held here to be less stuffy, more lifestyle focused. Soothing pink hues and light wood tones dominate the interior colour scheme, giving off a comforting, homely vibe. This doesn't mean you can't get serious work done here. They have both open format and fully-furnished office solutions, and their payment policy is one of the most flexible in town. You pay per head rather than for the square feet of your office, allowing smaller companies with scalability in mind greater room to maneuver.

The General Room

Exuding grandeur and opulence is The General Room, a military general-inspired co-working space located at Triple One Somerset for all to conduct their business activities. The common hot-desking option (from $500 a month) is available, along with event spaces, meeting rooms and private rooms that are also up for rent. Near the entrance of The General Room is a coffee bar, and other amenities include a fully stocked pantry, office supplies and the most important one of all—high speed internet.

The Great Room

They first opened an amazing 15,000 square feet, stylish space at One George Street in 2016, decked in a blue-tan color scheme, hardwood floors, leather sofas and retro-chic touches. Now, the hospitality-themed co-working space has expanded to four venues in Singapore—including at Centennial Tower, Ngee Ann City and the Raffles Arcade—all featuring jaw-dropping views and top-notch comfort as you work in hot desks, dedicated offices, or communal areas decked in plush leather. Get a day pass starting at $70, or you can sign up to be a member from $750/month which gives you access to the hot offices, exclusive events, a business address and other member perks.

The Hive

This co-working community has two locations in Singapore—one at Carpenter Street that's set over six storeys and filled with everything busy bees need for a productive work environment, and one at Lavender that's more suited for makers and photographers, given the availability of studios and fully-equipped workshops. You're in good hands whichever spot you pick.

JustCo

JustCo has plenty of locations in Singapore (we counted 16) that offers anything from Grade A office spaces with city skyline views, to those in shopping malls for your lifestyle conveniences. Among its perks are a strong network in many of Asia's top cities, an app that can do all your meeting room bookings and even manage bills for you, plus, you know, discounts at many participating F&B merchants in town. Prices start from $98 a month just to be part of the community (and get a business address), but if you're in it for the long haul, fork out $800 a month for a studio space.

Level3

This local innovation catalyst company—a collaboration between Unilever Foundry and Padang & Co—welcomes tech startups and entrepreneurs in Singapore all around the world to use their 22,000 sq ft workspace. Padang & Co designed and manages the space, which houses facilities like hot desks, phone booths, board rooms and event spaces. It is connected to Unilever’s headquarters, which will give you access to their events and programmes. Membership plans start from $100, which gives you a hot desk once a week plus access to the community, to $650 for a personal desk.

Mox

An original addition to the co-working space scene, Mox is Singapore’s first and largest independent design resource workspace—for creatives who could do with more than just hot desks and free charging points. Designed with the creative communities in mind, the self-touted co-making space in Joo Chiat provides novel facilities such as 3D printers, laser cutters, carpentry machines and working stations equipped with design software. There’s also a sewing room stocked with industrial-grade machines and a photography studio that comes with backdrop and lighting equipment, at added rental costs. For those in the handicraft and design industries, a retail storefront lets you display your works for sale. Plans range from $30/day for a day-pass to $500/month for a private office, so start-ups and businesses at any level can join to enjoy the facilities.

NuSpace by Nulab

The only one to provide a free space (yes, free) to work from, NuSpace at Changi Business Park is perfect for remote working on the fly without the burden of commitment—and it doesn't end there. A fully-stocked pantry with free coffee, tea, water and snacks is also available, as well as free WiFi, foosball table and plenty of networking opportunities with free tech talks, workshops and other events being regularly organised. The only catch? It's free for one year for all Nulab account member signups (which is also free) only.

Smartspace

This is one cool co-working space found at arts enclave Bras Basah, plus it's huge with 8,000 sq ft of meeting rooms, kitchen areas, work stations, private desks, and even a space for a spot of table tennis. It’s also user-friendly and offers accessible per-hour booking rates with work stations starting from $30 a day and going up to $600 a month. Being open round the clock is another bonus, if you're more the kind that gets your creative juices flowing later in the day.

Spaces

Amsterdam-born creative workspace provider Spaces have a total of six outposts in Singapore spread across the island, so take your pick from locations like City Hall, Clarke Quay, Somerset and even Paya Lebar. Each site caters to a slightly different clientele, but all offer that same fuss-free and well-thought-out work space solution we've come to expect from Spaces. From single dedicated desks with lockers (from $550 a month) to private offices that start from $825 a month, expect 24-hour access, a single bill to track all expenditure, and even be part of their Business Club where like-minded individuals can gather to not just work together, but simply form new connections that could lead to the next big thing.

Spectrum

When it comes to finding a workspace that offers a beautiful yet functional environment, as well as an inclusive community culture focused on knowledge and alliances, Spectrum in Fraser Street’s DUO Tower has nailed them both. The thoughtfully designed and agile workspace boasts spacious workstations, a variety of themed meeting rooms, aesthetic breakout areas and Herman Miller ergonomic furniture. The environment is complemented by its exclusive space for private discussions—an avenue for companies to expand their network and form long-term business relationships.

TradingPlc

Cosy and homely co-working space TradingPlc provides a conducive environment at Middle Road for everyone to head to when in need of a work zone. A local co-working space provider, TradingPlc offers affordable hot-desking options, starting from $150 a month. Prefer the outdoors? Take up a spot at the outdoor patio or balcony for $20 an hour. Also, feel free to scoot in and out of the ofice with the dedicated office scooter at no additional cost. As the name suggests, people in the finance sector tend to gather here and trade—whether they be dabbling in numbers or harmless goss.

Trehaus

Trehaus is a community-centered co-working space based in Orchard Road's Claymore Connect. Private offices, semi-private dedicated areas and other co-working spaces are available options. Become a member to enjoy perks which grant access to meeting rooms, lockers, office facilities, and even receive invitations to attend workshops and networking events. To put the working parent's mind at ease, Trehaus also offers child-friendly services to keep the little ones occupied.

WeWork

There are so many branches of WeWork in Singapore, with even more in the works, making them one of the most prevalent co-working brands in town; and around the world for that matter. Besides gaining access to this global network by being a member with them, other reasons to choose WeWork include 24/7 office access, trendy working areas, and a pantry well stocked with fresh fruit water, micro-roast coffee and craft beer on draft. Prices vary according to location, ranging from $520/month for hot desking to $1250/month for a private office space.

The Work Project

Hong Kong-born The Work Project boasts five locations across Singapore, found in locations like OUE Downtown, Great World City and Bugis. Prioritizing design to improve the work experience, they are decorated to the standard of five-star hotels. For $295/month for a hot-desk or up to $845/month for a private office, members can enjoy refreshments from Japanese coffee brand Omotesando Koffee and food retailer The Providore while they work, not to mention the ample meeting rooms and convenient locations.

The Working Capitol

The Working Capitol is one giant co-working space found nearby Keong Saik Road, probably Singapore's most happening street right now with new bars and restaurants opening all the time. They offer desks, private offices and a dedicated events venue with a pretty flexible schedule, so you can book on a daily basis or have a permanent space—up to you. Prices start from $79 a month for networking access and once-a-month desk use, up to $760/person for a full dedicated work space.

The Workshop

For a northside option, The Workshop is a cosy space in Ang Mo Kio with 24/7 accessibility and some of the most competitive prices around. You won’t get an international network of LinkedIn-fluent contacts, but you do get a comprehensive, no-frills deal of utilities, desks, printing credits and beverages. The Flexi Desk membership starts from just $220 a month; or take it up a notch with a Work/Maker Pod where you get your very own workshop space from $650 a month.

The Executive Centre

Located in multiple locations around Singapore, The Executive Centre upholds the concept of "office without walls" across its sizable locales, perfect for startups that advocate having workers mingle and interact with one another. The open concept office has some quirky bits to it, with furniture like a lorry-shaped table, a colorful solo sofa, cork shelves and many more, which livens up the atmosphere of the office. They also offer different office configurations with varying sizes and has more flexible workstations too. Prices start from $220 a month, depending on the outpost you choose.

What Gym and Fitness Center Employees Need to Know about COVID-19

Stay home if you are having symptoms of COVID-19.

Stay at least 6 feet away from patrons, coworkers, and service personnel when possible.

  • Follow workplace protocols and cues, such as floor markings, for maintaining social distancing of at least 6 feet apart.

Wear a cloth face covering or mask in public, and at work, when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Face coverings or masks may prevent people who don’t know they have the virus from spreading it to others.

  • Be careful when putting on and taking off cloth face coverings or masks:
    • Do not touch the face covering or mask while wearing it.
    • Do not touch your face, mouth, nose, or eyes while taking off the covering or mask.
    • Wash your hands before putting on and after taking off the covering or mask.
    • Wash the covering or mask after each use.
  • If storing the cloth face covering or mask while at work, place the used cloth face covering or mask into your own personal container or paper bag labeled with your name.
  • Do not wear cloth face coverings or masks if their use creates a new risk (for example, interferes with driving or vision, or contributes to heat-related illness) that exceeds their COVID-19 related benefits of slowing the spread of the virus.
  • If you are concerned about the use of cloth face coverings or masks at your workplace, discuss your concerns with your employer.

Be aware of contact with frequently touched surfaces.

  • Encourage gym patrons to clean equipment (e.g., free weights, exercise equipment, cardio machines) before and after use.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes, especially when handling frequently touched items.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after contact with or cleaning of frequently touched surfaces. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available.
  • Bring your own personal water bottle with your name on it.
  • Avoid sharing any personal items with coworkers or patrons.

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. You don’t need to wear gloves if you wash your hands regularly (unless they are already required for your job).

  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol if soap and water aren’t available.
  • Wash your hands at these key times:
    • Before, during, and after preparing food.
    • Before eating food.
    • After using the toilet.
    • After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • After putting on, touching, or removing cloth face coverings or masks.
    • Before and after work and work breaks.
    • Before and after touching any shared exercise equipment.
    • Before and after training sessions with patrons.

Do not touch your face, mouth, nose, or eyes.

Cover your coughs and sneezes.

  • Use tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
