This is a scam for money. They asked for pin number of credit cards and debit cards and even your address. Don't trust this number. ADT would not call for you to pay money, they will probably would mail a bill statement or email.
This is an ADT number and the only time they call is if you are behind on your bill for more than 60 days. You are correct and they should not be asking for pin numbers and will already have you address of file. When I talked with them I was just asked to confirm my method of payment and asked if the billing address was the same as the mailing; 2 weeks later the money was taken from my account and my bill was paid in full.
If you aren't and ADT customer tell them and they should stop calling.

I just got a call from this number, I called the number back and I was informed that I owe them money because the service for my other house was reactivated. The subject house is being rented and my husband or I never reactivated the service. ADT customer service is not very friendly and not very customer oriented. I can't wait until my contract is up, I will go ahead and cancel it after my contract is up and I will search for another security service.
This # is for ADT Security. Turns out my Credit Card expired and they couldn't automatically charge my account for the monthly payment. So the account was showing past due.
That is why they were calling.

It's ADT billing. I have ADT, and had forgotten to update my new credit card info on file w/ them. So the old card was rejected on auto-pay. So, although the number comes up "unknown" it's not a spammer.
It is the Billing Department for ADT. I actually do have an account with them, so it was helpful since their other number does not work. Just call them back and just be firm and polite. It also helps to call back between 8 AM to 10 PM Eastern time. If you don't have an account with them, just let them know they have a wrong number. At least they are not the pesky telemarketers.
The caller ID for me listed it as 800 Service.

i have adt svc. My auto pay checking got closed when i switched banks. Forgot to inform adt... Oops. It is a legit call from adt. If you dont have an adt acct then answer and tell them and it will stop. If you do have adt then pay or suspend monitoring till you can afford again. My svc was not interrupted for the 3 months before they called.

"The only time they call is if you are 60 days past due" That is not a true statement. I cancelled my account on the due date,and paid in full. I have received calls everyday from this number. I no longer have ADT, nor will I ever again.
Garbage...I have never had ADT service...I called ADT after receiving tons of calls from 1-800-522-2455 on my cell phone at all hours, night and day...They supposedly put my number on their "do not call list"...weeks later I still get these annoying calls...I can't imagine that this is legitimately ADT. I am repeatedly asked to stay on the line for an important message from ADT, only to be disconnected as soon as someone begins talking...This is some type of scam...I am going to call every government agency I can think of that might have the jurisdiction/authority to end this harrassment. Received a call from 800-522-2455 on 09/13/2012. They claimed we have an account with ADT and didn't pay our bill in April. They asked for an email address so they could send us a bill. My husband gave them our email address. Then they asked for the password to our security system! I told them I don't give out our password to people over the phone. I told my husband to hang up! Remove us from your calling list. I believe these are scammers trying to get into our account and possibly into our home.
